The inquiry at the basis of "Outline" coincides with the ambivalence contained in the english word, whose meaning puts into a connection - by superimposing them - the concepts of "geometric outline" and of " logical scheme". Our target is represented exactly by the will of tracing the outline of a contemporary logical scheme, related to the concept of town, intended as an anthropologichal place and an emblematic and complete expression of a civilization.
This is a contemporary and - almost at each latitude - by now totally "ingegnerized" town, which is furnished with clear and visible urbanistic structures, and which is - at the same time - ubiquitously pervaded by invisible cable structures and by powerful telecommunication nets. So, it is a town that exists and pulses also inside the extended reality of a new and important urbanistic dimension, the dematerialized dimension of the information fluxes which define again its outlines in a constant relation with the world.
The inquiry of "Outline" faces the theme of town in the perspective of making evident this new dialectic relationship between its physical plane and that of its technological projection, producing an aesthetic interpretation of the logical and structural connections that bind them together. In a conceptual perspective, our intention is that of working in a close relation with the physical and architectural space.
Also finding again - in a contemporary optic and with digital techniques - the social and emblematic valencies of the wall-space. |

L'indagine alla base di "Outline" coincide con l’ambivalenza contenuta nel termine inglese, il cui significato mette in relazione – sovrapponendoli – i concetti di "contorno geometrico" e di "schema logico". Il nostro obiettivo progettuale risiede proprio nella volontà di delineare i contorni di uno schema logico contemporaneo, in relazione al concetto di città, intesa come luogo antropologico ed espressione compiuta ed emblematica di una civiltà.
Una città contemporanea e perciò – a quasi tutte le latitudini – ormai totalmente “ingegnerizzata”, dotata di strutture urbanistiche evidenti e visibili, e – nel contempo – ubiquamente pervasa da invisibili infrastrutture cablate e da potenti reti di telecomunicazione. Una città, quindi, che esiste e pulsa anche nella realtà estesa di una nuova importante dimensione urbanistica, quella smaterializzata dei flussi informativi che ne ridefiniscono i contorni in costante relazione con il mondo
L’indagine di “Outline” affronta il tema della città nella prospettiva di rendere evidente questo nuovo rapporto dialettico fra il suo piano fisico e quello della sua proiezione tecnologica, operando un’interpretazione estetica dei nessi logici e strutturali che li legano. In chiave concettuale, è nostra volontà intervenire in stretta relazione con lo spazio fisico e architettonico. Ritrovando anche – in un’ottica contemporanea e con le tecniche digitali –– le valenze sociali ed emblematiche dello spazio parete. |
